In June, we released a brand-new feature designed to empower restaurant and hospitality operators to accept orders on premises by generating personalized QR codes. Plus, read about outdoor dining, bar food ideas, restaurant color psychology, and more on our blog.
New Feature: Scan QR Code to Order on Premise
We’re excited to announce our fresh new feature that enables restaurants and other businesses in the hospitality industry to accept orders from any on premise location.
The on premise (scan QR to order) service allows food clients to order from hotel rooms, beach bar sunbeds, stadium seats or suites, resort apartments, villas, restaurant tables, or any other entertainment area.
How to enable on premise ordering
To benefit from this feature, you need to enable the “On premise” service by going to Admin -> Setup -> Services & opening hours.
Next, make sure to check if the general opening hours you have set also apply to on premise orders, and set different hours for other services enabled (e.g.: pickup and or/delivery) if necessary.
The “On premise” menu will be available to your customers by scanning a QR code that you can create from Marketing Tools -> QR codes & Flyers for each on premise order type: Dine-in, Room service, Suite, Seat delivery, Sunbeds, etc.
The same QR code can be generated for all on premise order types or it can be customized for each of them (e.g.: each sunbed can have its own QR code).
Let’s say you have 6 sunbeds. You will have to set the range from 1 to 6, then click Next and the system will automatically generate 6 different QR codes for you.
To download these QR codes, click on the three dots next to it, then Download QR codes PDF.
You can display the codes as such, or you can click on Add flyer to generate more colorful flyers for customers to scan. You can download all the personalized flyers by clicking on Download Flyer.
How does on premise ordering work for food clients
To open the food menu and place an order, food clients need to scan the QR code offered to them. The table, room, or sunbed number will be prefilled for fast ordering.
For most phones, customers can use the default camera app (iOS, Android) or a dedicated QR scanning app, point it at the QR code, and they will be taken to the ordering widget with on premise preselected.
