How To Tell Your Clients About Online Ordering
Print info cards
Put small info cards on the dine-in tables to highlight your website URL, along with a tasty dish photo and the “See MENU & Order” button. If you can also promise (let’s say… 5%) smaller prices to online orders, that’s even better! This way, every dine-in customer of yours may also become an online client, ordering more often, together with more people, without even occupying valuable table space during peak times. All of this thanks to the new online ways of ordering ahead to be served on arrival, ordering for pick-up or asking for a delivery online.
Slip one of those info cards inside the bag of every takeout order. When the ordering client unwraps the package, he/she may actually leave it on the his office or home table while eating. There are good chances your customer is not eating alone, so your info card could actually be seen by more people.
Here is an example of such an info card:

Print flyers to spread the word
Make sure people in the neighbourhood know who you are and what delicious food you offer. Pro tip: Slip a printed flyer into your customers' bag whenever they order takeaway - this way, you can make them pass it along to their hungry friends.

Introduce the “No touch seal”
Your customers will feel better served and reassured that their food was not opened by anyone once it left your kitchen. For you it’s a good opportunity to promote your website and the online ordering service.

Write a Personal Thank You Note
Never underestimate the power of a personal "thank you" note on a takeaway bag. If it’s handwritten, even better. It’s a free way for you to show customers you appreciate their patronage. Knowing an actual human being took the time to write some nice words of thanks will make them feel more connected to your brand.
Remember to always use the customer’s name and personalize the note as much as you can. Signing the card with your own name is also essential. The in-betweens are your choice. You can just say “Thank you” like in the image below…
…or you can be more specific as to why you’re saying thanks.
